“Vicki spent her early years from 1950 on a sheep station in Western Qld, and then moved with her mother, father & siblings to Noosa on the Sunshine Coast in the early 1960’s . A love of nature has always been central to her life & her art. She started drawing and painting as a child with Emma Freeman who was a well known Noosa artist.After moving to Brisbane, working, getting married and raising a family, Vicki began studying Drawing, Painting, Design and Art History at The Brisbane Institute of Art for several years part time.After going to a meeting of the Pastel Society and being inspired by the brilliance and versatility of pastels, she then went to classes in pastel painting with Terry Wilkinson, who is a Master Pastellist of the Society. Vicki has taken classes and done many workshops with other artists.She is entranced by and drawn to the natural world, especially flowers, the colours, diversity and mystery of them. They are like metaphors of life itself. Vicki has won many awards for her floral and landscape paintings, both in oil and pastel.Vicki is a full time artist and is a member of the Pastel Society of Australia Inc and The Logan Artists Association.
