Art exhibition history was made in the Old Fire Station Gallery in Redcliffe in September 1915.
With Australia-wide membership, and overseas, the Pastel Society of Australia boasts the highest standard of contemporary art making with this medium. Master Pastellist status is awarded to those members who consistently display an excellent use and control of pastel, and who offer themselves generously to the promotion and understanding of the medium.
For the first time in its history, these Master Pastellists exhibited together.
The exhibitors included internationally recognised artists and members in demand as teachers world-wide, and Master Pastellists demonstrated their art free to the public every day of the exhibition.
The next Master Pastellist Exhibition will be held 11 October to 5 November 2017 at the Old Fire Station Gallery, Redcliffe.
